— Our Story

It started with a BBQ, a Craigslist ad, and a little obsession.

In 2011 we converted a second-hand Craigslist BBQ into a coffee roaster and started roasting out of our garage. The obsession grew. In December 2012 we opened our first storefront on Niles Boulevard — a specialty coffee bridge between San Jose and Oakland.

Today, Devout is a small roastery and café where you can watch the beans roast, taste the difference precision makes, and linger a little longer than you meant to. Small shop. Big heart. Coffee that never falters.

We hunt for exceptional, traceable lots — like our Candelaria from Costa Rica — and buy them at the peak of their season.
